"As far as expanding into South Korea, it is important to keep in mind the role which custom plays in the Asian business marketplace. South Koreans stand much more on custom in business than Americans do, or than we are conditioned to. South Koreans of course are aware that outsiders like Americans do not understand the nuances of their domestic culture, but any demonstration of knowledge, respect or understanding of their customs makes it that much easier to get things done in South Korea. It is good to apprise oneself of customs in South Korea before entering into business in South Korea, and benefiting from the strength of the economy, partnerships and alliances that can be forged within this surging economy."
