"The Chinese interests in the Africa and the Sudan in particular has become a controversial and contentious issue, both from a political as well as from an economic investment and business point of view. In order to understand the implications of Chinese interests in African countries, something of the background to the realties underlying Chinese economic expansionism needs to be explained.
"It is a common truism that economics and politics are two sides of the same coin. In other words, these two aspects are very often inextricably interconnected and interlinked. This is an important aspect to bear in mind when discussing the Chinese-Sudanese relationship and its implications for the rest of Africa."
