2,450 words (approx. 9.8 pages) | 6 sources | APA | 2008 Bangladesh

Paper Summary:

This paper explains that the need for constant change forces the management of an organization to apply the techniques of business process reengineering as part of the continuous improvement process. The paper defines three strategies: product differentiation, cost minimization and niche marketing. The author discusses reengineering tools such as Porter's five forces analysis, external and internal benchmarking and the balanced score card method. The paper illustrates that change management consultants have the ability to anticipate adversities and devise preemptive strategies.

From the Paper:

"Businesses compete on the basis of price and quality. These are the two critical success factors and therefore performance improvement initiatives have to be based upon strategies that address those factors. In this respect, the total quality management model has been gaining wide support for creating an infrastructure in which performance initiatives as part of the continuous improvement program may be developed and implemented. Therefore, an evaluation of the degree of relevance of total quality management when it comes to identifying performance improvement initiatives is of particular importance."

I have an MBA from National University of Singapore and a BBA from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In MBA, my major was in operations management. However I covered a wide variety of subjects in marketing, finance and accounting. My paper on the analysis of financial statements was published. I enrolled in National University of Singapore because I was offered a full scholarship from the Asian Development Bank, one of eight such awards given every year. As part of an exchange program, I also spent one quarter in University of Washington, Seattle. There I covered four subjects in marketing, statistics, operations and IT. I have also worked in a variety of professional roles that allowed to me apply my academic learnings to real life.
