From the Paper:
"Face to Face communication is one of the most important communication vehicles we have at our disposal. While it may be the most difficult to master and understand. The level of trust in organizations is highest between employee and their supervisor or manager. This occurs as these people work together on a daily basis and have a degree of understanding built up through that relationship. To take advantage of this trust we need to develop the interpersonal communication skills of our front line managers. Not only to train them on specific skills such as active listening but also giving them an opportunity to practice using the skills they already have, or have had training in. Once managers have the skills needed, we need to help front- line managers understand the core messages that need to be delivered by focusing on developing their understanding of the context of the messages. "
