From the Paper:
"Hormones are the chemical messengers of the body, produced throughout the body in different glands. These chemicals are then secreted as necessary for certain biological activities to take place. Hormones have the responsibility of allowing chemical reactions within the body to happen, and therefore regulating the behavioral patterns of the person. There are two types of hormones found within the human body, steroids and peptides. Steroids are the primary sex hormones which control sexual behavior and are responsible for such bodily functions as puberty in both males and females and a woman's fertility cycle. "
