# 127897

3,000 words (approx. 12 pages) | 14 sources | MLA | 2008 | United States
Published on: Jan 01, 2008

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses important contributions of archaeology to our knowledge of the story of the Exodus and the stories about Jesus and also discusses critical mistakes in the ways archaeology has been used to reconstruct the story
of the Exodus and the stories about Jesus, answering four additional questions at the end.

From the Paper:

"Archaeology is not properly undertaken as a stand alone discipline. Contributions from other disciplines are vital to inform and validate archaeological data and to fill in the gaps. Particularly in Biblical studies, it is important to include the Bible stories and historical data in the examination of archaeological finds, because these complement each other. Modern sources of information such as films can also be useful in terms of demonstrating how the disparate pieces of data in each of these spheres are connected and make sense..."
