FS is a clinically defined condition which is characterized by severe and disabling fatigue. It examines the problems faced by health care professionals in treating CFS patients since the etiology of the illness is not known. It attempts to determine whether CFS patients are characterized by a C-1 esterase inhibitor deficiency and whether replacement therapy for C-1 esterase inhibitor deficiency leads to improvements in patients? CFS status. It also looks at the significance of the study to nursing since advanced practice nurses play an important role in the delivery of care to CFS patients.
