Was the political reason that the United States was involved in the Cold War a statement of power over the Soviet Union? Did the United States want to make a bold statement to other countries that the United States believed in democracy and would fight if needed to help other countries maintain their democracy? Was the real reason for the war a bold statement to others that United States had power and would use it if need be? Why or Why not? Is the Cold War really over? Will there be another Cold War? What affect has the terrorists had on the nation and the Cold War? Will Russia side with the United States?"
