"Social change as the result of the Great War had a significant affect on the country during the war. For the first time, women were encouraged to leave domestically focused work positions and engaged in work which was typically "reserved" for men. For the first time, black Americans fought and died along side of white Americans. The war also had a monumentous effect on the economic abilities of the country. The manufacturing strength of the industrial revolution, which has first been tested during he First World War, rose to the challenge of supplying the war effort, and as a direst result, the allies were equipped to carry the War to a successful conclusion."
