4,495 words (approx. 18 pages) | 15 sources | APA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses memory and learning, particularly from the perspective of language and communication. It discusses the cognitive processes performed by the brain and defines cognitive psychology with reference to language development. The paper also examines the concept of representational theory of mind (RTM) and its role in cognitive psychology.

From the Paper:

"One issue where urban and rural coincide is that of poverty. Impecuniousness is the same whether it's in the country or the city. Children who are poor face the same issues of food and clothing just as poor schools face the same issues of outdated texts and skimpy lunch menus. With this idea of poverty the issue of retaining the services of teachers becomes very much in the forefront of the schools agenda. If the budget doesn't allow for certain extracurricular activities both urban and rural schools suffer. If a student can potentially receive a scholarship in sports but can't play because there is no team because of budget cuts then poverty becomes a cycle because that kid won't go to college and improve their life."
