The parents of the child, if they are not the ones molesting the child, feel safe about leaving the child with the molester, and the child feels as though they have no power to protect themselves. Rape is not about sex. It is about power and control - the power to destroy and the control over the body and mind of another person. Yet, those who can overcome being raped are immensely powerful themselves."
