Public Administration and Globalization

Paper Summary:

This paper presents a bibliographic examination of the body of thought that contributes to the understanding and facilitation of globalization with respect to areas of governance. The paper presents the information that exists in a way that both furthers the understanding of the challenge with which the global community is faced, as well as highlights the areas in which further, comprehensive study, would benefit the successful transitioning of the inevitable; globalization. The paper begins with an examination of the global infrastructure is necessary to support globalization, which is communication and technology. The paper then segues into the levels of public administration, which in turn segues to the processes and the actual flow of the resources through the process, levels and means of transportation and technology.

"Swami says the progress made thus far is classified into five categories: financial institutions; public-utility corporations; commercial oriented concerns; sectoral policy implementation agencies; and training/research institutions (p. 26). The government of Botswana supported these endeavors with capital infusions, but it will be up to these entities to create and pursue policies of public administration that can meet and forecast goals, public and governmental, in order to sustain themselves and to serve as examples of success for other organizations that will no doubt arise out of the commerce created by these organizations."
