From the Paper:

"There are several dimensions of management, management as a Function, as an Art, as a Science and as a Profession. The functional aspects of management are Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, Controlling, Coordinating and Decision Making. Like any other art, management also needs the application of know-how or systematic skills like that of dancing or playing a music instrument, for achieving the desired results in an efficient manner. As in the case of science, management also needs logical application of mind to analyze the cause - effect relationships, correlations, and functional associations in an uncertain scenario. The managerial role involves the application of expert knowledge in problem solving in specific situations that is governed by a code of conduct along with social responsibilities and so the management has got the dimension of a Profession also. Management as a Function is the subject matter here with the detailed analysis of two functions of management, i.e. Organizing and Staffing under different management styles."
