"The Work of Kamran Farid entitled: "Being a Family-Owned Company Can Be A Competitive Advantage", states that there are advantages as well as disadvantages to "creating and running a family-owned business" however a loyal team and a focused owner/manager has the potential in the form of a family-owned business to "offer advantages that make it strong and successful while instilling loyalty and business passion in all who become part of the company." (Farid, 2006) This case study reports a family-owned business by the name of 'Edible Arrangements' which began in 1999 with the stated goal of creating "an international business of hand-sculpted fresh fruit bouquets."(Farid, 2006)"
