This paper will address the issues and concepts that surround discrimination against African Americans throughout history. However, the conclusion is made that, while there is some support for the widely held notion that ethnic and racial inequality is slowly diminishing in the U.S., a more substantial body of evidence suggests that there really is not much to be applauded.
