1,546 words (approx. 6.2 pages) | 7 sources | APA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the correlation between the lack of positive adult support and communication from parents, teachers, pastors, or coaches with adolescents and an increased rate of depression and suicide attempts. It discusses the potential results of positive adult support, including the benefits to adolescents' social identity and reduced suicidal tendencies.

From the Paper:

"For support, there are support groups in the community that helps drug abuse and depression. There is also the community health department that can help the person to find assistance in overcoming the addiction and depression. In order to fully see if the man has recovered his addiction and depression, he must show signs of motivation to better himself by obtaining a new lifestyle and career, which brings their morale up. In other words, people who are overcoming addictions should be motivated to change their lifestyles in order to make positive changes."
