Conflict within the Church

Paper Summary:

The essence of the paper is to discuss the element of pain and suffering as it relates to the Epistle of Peter and how the pastoral counselor can be an agent of healing to a church that is in the throes of conflict. The focus of the paper is conflict resolution.

"Conflict can destroy relationships, businesses and churches. Conflict can eat away at a relationship or foundation little by little causing an insidious cancer to destroy from the inside out or it can be a reactive and large explosion that causes destruction in the one event . Regardless of the way conflict destroys it is well known that it does. Conflict resolution is the method by which the conflicts are examined and resolved. Conflict resolution is an important factor in many arenas but in all cases there are similarities in the way it is handled. Often times a mediator is brought into the situation and the two sides present their beliefs. Possible resolutions are examined and the best one for that particular situation is chosen."
