Paper Summary:
From the time when communication was as simple as drawing pictures on cave walls to the time when we use teleconferencing, there were a lot of changes that have influenced how we interact within society. This paper shows that there is a correlation between communication growth in its development and an ability to be more independent. The paper concludes that as society evolved, so did communication.
From the Paper:
"Communication began its evolution. Drawings in caves or on monuments were one of the ways that history and stories of fights and hunts were recorded. In "3000 B.C., the Egyptians created a picture language called hieroglyphics (internet2)." Symbols were just a start of a more complex language where writing was introduced. Writing was something that has become infused into our society. It has allowed us to become more advanced in many ways by recording and storing information that we evaluate and review to this day. Great writings of philosophers, poets, scientists and historians enabled us to move into a different age, where reasoning was a common tool by allowing us to think at more advanced levels and thus creating more developed techniques of communication."
