2,608 words (approx. 10.4 pages) | 12 sources | APA | 2003 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper examines how technology has become a gigantic part of communication amongst the business world in the last 20 years. It looks at how, as business has grown over the years, large corporations and small businesses have needed other means to communicate to their employees and to their clients. The paper also discusses how the emergence of advanced telecommunications such as T-1 connections and cellular communication, have been at the forefront of the technological revolution and how communication between management and employees has continually been advancing, along with the new age techniques that have been implemented due to technology. The paper expands on these topics, and touches on some other topics related to technology and the impact it has had on communication in the business world during the last 20 years.

From the Paper:

" T1 high-speed internet access allows a company's network to establish connections to the internet at higher speeds than dial up and is more reliable. It is cheaper to use a T1 trunk than a series of leased telephone lines. T1 access is never shared. A T1 user is guaranteed 99.9% access at maximum speed avoiding the slow downs of dial up access. Since T1 does not use phones lines, you are always connected without tying up the phone line. The use of video conferencing has increased and T1 has met the demand by providing more bandwidth which provides audio and video communication simultaneously and without delays. Businesses are using T1 for both inter and intra-office for cost effective communication. T1 has managed tremendous growth because of its solid technology and reliable service."
