This paper focuses on safeguarding children in our world today. It takes a look at society today and analyzes the different kinds of abuse a child might be subjected to. It looks at child maltreatment, focusing on physical, emotional and psychological abuse, the neglect of children, the rise of sexual abuse and the effects they have on a child. There is also personal reference to true stories where children had to face these traumas of abuse.
