↶ Look Inside

Paper Summary:

This paper examines how AIDS has become one of the most devastating and destructive diseases in the world today both on a social as well as personal level. It looks at how HIV/AIDS is very prevalent in the less-developed regions of the world and how it not only has a direct affect on a society but also has far - reaching consequences in terms of the economics and other societal aspects in many countries.

Outline:
Introduction
Definition, Etiology and Symptoms of HIV/AIDS
The Impact and Consequences of HIV/AIDS
Conclusion

From the Paper:

"The term AIDS refers to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome while HIV refers to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. In reality AIDS is a complex of diseases which occur in the individual as a result of the attack of the HIV virus on the human immune system. An individual is diagnosed as being HIV positive when the body creates antibodies to fight the HIV virus. "When you get a blood test for HIV, the test looks for these antibodies. If you have them in your blood, it means that you have HIV infection. People who have the HIV antibodies are called "HIV-Positive." (What Is AIDS?) Therefore there is an important difference between those people who are HIV positive and those who actually have the symptoms of AIDS.
