The Iraq War
Argues that the reasons President George Bush led us into war with Iraq were financial rather than for national security or concern for the Iraqi people.
2,265 words (approx. 9.1 pages) | 7 sources | MLA | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

The author describes and explains the timeline of events that led to the Iraq War and argues that the war was initiated for monetary gain rather than for the stated purpose of finding weapons of mass destruction or liberating the Iraqi people. The author proceeds to use evidence from his research to substantiate his claims.

From the Paper:

"Saddam played right into the hands of the Bush regime by refusing to allow onsite inspections and continuously challenging American resolve in the No-Fly zones which covered most of Iraq. Cheney had been a Neo-Conservative under the elder George Bush's presidency but saw his grand plans dashed when Bush Sr. lost a bid for re-election to Bill Clinton. He saw his chance re-emerge when Bush Jr. seized power in 2000. "
