These diseases include diabetes, heart disease, leukemia, and certain types of cancer. Indeed, stem cell research has been projected to possibly provide treatment for numerous different disabilities, including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, spinal cord injury, stroke, burns, and even arthritis. Considering the vast number of people suffering from these afflictions, it is safe to say that every person in America knows someone who could benefit from this controversial research opportunity. So why is support for stem cell research so low?"
