Save the Internet!
A persuasive paper on the importance of upholding net neutrality.
1,935 words (approx. 7.7 pages) | 7 sources | APA | 2008

Paper Summary:

The paper discusses how corporate giants such as AT&T and Verizon are contemplating the practice of "network management" that would allow them to censor information, block sites and change the news. The paper reveals that although the measure is supposedly meant to help fight music and video thievery, it is, in reality, solely for the companies' own financial gain. The paper calls upon all Americans to lobby to uphold net neutrality and thus protect their freedom of speech and press.

From the Paper:

"When Americans access the Internet, they take almost everything for granted. People assume that they will be able to access any Web site they please, whenever they want, at the fastest speed, whether a corporate, blog, or personal site. People assume that they can use any service they like -- watching online video, listening to podcasts, sending instant messages -- anytime they choose. But big corporations are trying to change this principle. This is why net neutrality should be upheld in the United States."
