Media and Violence
Argues that the increased violence in television and video games are influencing young children to become more aggressive.
880 words (approx. 3.5 pages) | 4 sources | MLA | 2008

Paper Summary:

This paper presents scientific research, which suggests that the violence in television and games is causing youngsters to display more aggressive behavior. The paper points out that the rise in crimes committed by children has caused the government to pass new laws to protect children from violence. The paper also relates that the V-Chip allows parents to censor what kids are watching.

From the Paper:

"The United States has been found to have the most violent television programming among the nations so these numbers are alarming. A child's perception of what is real and unreal may not be as accurate as an adult. Aggressive adults developed their behavior patterns when they were children from the actions of aggressive adults they were exposed to, who in turn learned their behaviors as children, so the cycle continues."
