Globalization

Paper Summary:

The paper discusses the benefits of globalization as well as the increased possibility of inequality, exploitation and terror. The paper asserts that the question is not how globalization will affect our world, but rather how we will respond to it. The paper discusses the concepts of personal, corporate and state responsibility and contends that once moral responsibility is taken in these three key areas, we can ensure that our global community is not one of exploitation and inequality, but rather of mutual prosperity and freedom.

From the Paper:

"Our world is going through an economic upheaval as momentous as the Industrial Revolution. This new revolution is known as globalization, and just like the Industrial Revolution, the promises of prosperity and advancement are marred by serious socio-cultural and economic downsides. In a world that is getting smaller by the nanosecond, the world community has never been so close or interdependent. With this reality comes the possibility of a global market which benefits all people not only economically, but also culturally, politically and socially, as ideas and beliefs are shared freely and without coercion. Along with these benefits come the increased possibility of inequality, exploitation, and terror."
