Published on: Jan 01, 2007

Paper Summary:

This paper examines several works and what they reveal of gender relations, ideas of female nature and virtue. The paper argues that whereas Chinese civilization is often stereotyped as patriarchal and anti-woman, all works show in different ways the special abilities attributed to women, how male corruption might corrupt them, and the common placeness of women as de facto sources of power.
