Euthanasia

Euthanasia
Presents arguments in favor of euthanasia.
1,125 words (approx. 4.5 pages) | 4 sources | 2005 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper examines why euthanasia should be a personal choice for terminally ill, brain dead, or mortally injured people, despite what right wing politicians and evangelical zealots believe. It argues, first of all, that passive euthanasia should be fully legalized on the primary basis that human suffering should not be prolonged by medical science simply to extend physical life. Secondly, it argues that terminally ill or fatally injured patients have the inherent ethical right to refuse artificial life support, for they are the moral guardians of their own lives and the ultimate authority to be considered.
