1,442 words (approx. 5.8 pages) | 3 sources | MLA | 2008 Turkey

Paper Summary:

The paper illustrates how Dickens' works possess various elements of realism. The paper explains realism as the depiction of subjects as they appear in everyday life, without embellishment or interpretation. The paper then shows how Dickens does not idealize people and places and pictures them exactly as they appear.

From the Paper:

"Charles Dickens is generally considered to be one of the greatest English novelists. In many of his novels he criticizes certain institutions and persons such as schools, schoolmasters, government departments, bad prisons, dirty houses. His characters include thieves, murderers, men in debt, stupid and unwashed men and women, hungry children, and those who do their best to deceive the honest. Dickens's novels are, among other things, works of social commentary."
