Cloning

Cloning
Presents an argument against the scientific method of cloning.
1,500 words (approx. 6 pages) | 4 sources | MLA | 2005

Paper Summary:

This paper presents a definition of cloning and then analyzes the ethical questions linked to this process. The paper argues that, although human cloning can provide scientists with organisms for organ donation and medical experiments, the price is very high, as it could give scientists the power to decide and create their image of the perfect man.

From the Paper:

"While this sounds like a valid and risk-free option, it isn't. As other scientists explain, creating a clone from couples with genetic diseases is not simply a matter of removing the unhealthy gene, resulting in the production of a healthy clone. Each and every gene in our body has a significance which science hasn't completely understood. Eliminating genes and changing them around can have consequences which go beyond passing down a hereditary disease (Elshtain 1-2)."
