Paper Summary:
This paper examines the problem of teenage sexuality, pregnancy and thus abortion. It opines that because the option of abortion is readily available to teenagers, the fear of pregnancy is not so great. The writer concludes that as a Christian he believes that abortion should be dropped as an available option.
From the Paper:
"To abort or not to abort is a topic which has been exhausted with extensive debates. While some people would claim that it is their right to abort, there are many others who would equate abortion as being equal to murder. Mostly those that are secular are normally for abortion while those who have religious inclinations are against it. All the religions teach about the purity and sanctity of life. Christianity is a religion which states that man was created in the image of God and to Christians therefore life is something holy and thus it should not be ended with an abortion. Many of the major religions of the world have a similar stand on this issue. Islam, another major religion of the world, states something similar and declares abortion to be no less than murder. People who follow a particular religion and are close to God, think that life is a gift from God and only He has the right to end life. Thus they claim that when man takes charge of ending life then he is treading forbidden grounds and trying to play God."
