Competition keeps prices "in line with the needs of consumers or what Smith referred to as the "invisible hand" of the market which in the view of Smith allows the self-interest individually to drive the provision for the public good or "overall interest of society". (Ibid) In other words those who have services or goods for sale or the sellers are impacted by competition negatively should be buyers choose to go to another vendor or service deliverer."
