"In the Air Force, I found the motivation, the never-ending lack of encouragement, instruction, training and friendship that I never enjoyed as a child, teenager and high school graduate. I have spent a total of 14 years in the military off and on over the years. To me this is a success in itself. I have travelled overseas to visit far off lands. I have served proudly, not for the amusement and parade of others, but as my way to escape the everyday life that most people live. It gave me satisfaction in the sense that I was a successful member of a team doing things that were important on a national level, and I did that job well."
