My Best and Worst Jobs
A personal account of the best and worst job the writer experienced.
783 words (approx. 3.1 pages) | 0 sources | 2009 United States

Paper Summary:

In this paper, the writer first describes a job she had as a nanny for a German family where she felt like a member of the family with kind, generous and devout employers. The writer then contrasts this job with that of a live-in position she took in caring for the son of a wealthy Manhattan couple where she had mean bosses, received no respect and had to endure too many rules.

From the Paper:

"Employers seeking to establish a positive working environment should bear a few simple rules in mind. They should compensate their people fairly, they should ensure a comfortable work environment, and they should treat their employees with respect.
"The best job I ever had was as a nanny for the Budka family in Stuttgart, Germany. General Budka was serving as the Deputy Commander in Chief of US Forces in Europe. As his wife, Mrs. Budka had a significant number of social responsibilities to take care of. Nonetheless, they both loved their four children dearly and the kids had been well raised. They were polite, inquisitive and full of life. All this made the work environment fun."
