This paper describes the memories of the Portuguese-speaking author as she enters an entirely new academic environment and setting at Azusa Pacific University, a Christian college. The importance of several of the author's classes and teachers are discussed as well. The paper is a reflection of the writer's time spent at Azusa Pacific University and how, after completing that stage of her life, she came to feel good about herself by overcoming obstacles and achieving long-term goals.
From the Paper:
"One of the differences in a Christian school setting is prayer moment before each class. This was new to me and I soon realized that I liked it very much, especially since it provides the opportunity to give a prayer request. This seems like a good idea because everyone is incorporated into the prayer session. I also appreciated how Mrs. Pruitt gave a prayer for each of us to be calm during our first session and be able to digest all of the information that we would learn that night. I think this helped with many of the fears that some of my fellow students had, including me."
