Paper Summary:

This essay relates certain aspects from the movie "The Boondock Saints" to modern day social psychology. Factors such as social norms, theory of reasoned actions, magical thinking and bullying as examples of social psychology are examined. This movie takes a look at the reaction of society when two brothers begin to rid the South Boston streets of all wrongdoers. It is unique because the city actually starts to support the brothers, though in effect they are murderers.

From the Paper:

"Magical thinking is experienced by a large percentage of individuals daily, and it influences many of the decisions that people make. Detective Greenly gives many examples of magical thinking throughout the movie. He is a dreamer, and the images that he creates in his mind when investigating a crime scene are far from the events that actually took place. FBI Agent Smecker, who was called in to help investigate the death of the Russian mobsters, constantly corrects him in the movie."
