Although the director is the mastermind of entire project, the existence of art director is very crucial in many aspects; and it is very unfortunate often their work goes unappreciated. Art directors take a number of approaches to support what the directors try to portray onto the film, and it is done with the use of visual elements - lights, props, scenic design, costume and more. Art directors present those visual elements to the audience in order to provide a sense of understanding and appreciation of story that is being folded on the film."
