Paper Summary:

The paper examines the film "Pearl Harbor" and asserts that it is a poorly written love story instead of a great depiction of the attack on the United States. The paper praises the effects and realism during the few true, historical scenes, but contends that the directors didn't focus enough on the actual attack.

From the Paper:

"The attack on Pearl Harbor has inspired numerous books and movies since the tragedy actually happened. It is arguable that the books have done much better than the films overall. It can't be easy to depict a very accurate representation of what actually took place that day in a movie just over three hours long. In 2001, there was much hype about the Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay film. Viewers were anticipating it to be the greatest review of the attack yet. Although most of the publicity and excitement for the feature film Pearl Harbor was focused on the battle scenes, unfortunately, the movie is a poorly written love story where a war just happens to be taking place."
