Paper Summary:
The paper analyzes how the film "Requiem For a Dream" portrays the reality of drug addiction and the depression and physical defects that result from it. The paper discusses the addictions of the characters Sara, Harry, Tyrone and Marion, and how they caused each of these characters' dreams to shatter in the end.
From the Paper:
"In life, people can become addicted to many different things. While drugs and alcohol are two of the things that are most commonly thought of as being addictive, certain emotional states and statuses in society can also become very addictive. The majority of people in society experience these emotions throughout their lives, but some people simply cannot let go and get on with their lives. Also, once an individual has money or power, he or she will go to great lengths to keep it. This is an example of being addicted to this status, as it is not something that most people would readily give up. The film "Requiem For a Dream", examines these issues through the lives of the main characters."
