"This happened in our organization and it led to a conflict that took months to resolve. What happened was that Tom, our sales person, wrote a proposal to one of our valued clients. The proposal was very simple and it included the name of the product, the cost and the delivery time only. This was his first proposal in writing to any client, and before that Tom would take orders by convincing and talking to the client verbally. But this client was very professional and wanted a good proposal from our company. Tom, having no prior experience in writing proposals and reports, presumed that the client only required the price quote in writing and so he handed over a one-page proposal! "
