Women held some of the most powerful and hard working positions in biblical times. In pre-industrial society women worked right beside their husbands and children. Many believe that women's status in the workforce improved dramatically during World War I and World War II. The industrial boom of the late 19th and 20th centuries helped many women to enter the workforce. Although today women are entering more occupations than ever, there are still more glass ceilings to be broken."
