"Thomas Woodrow Wilson, the schoolmaster in politics, was our 28th president. He was born on December 28,1856 in Staunton, Virginia, son of Joseph Ruggles Wilson and Janet Jessie Woodrow Wilson. He was raised in a Scottish-Irish Presbyterian family. During the civil War, the Wilson family moved to Augusta, Georgia, where he was educated at a private school in Augusta."
