From the Paper:
"The continued emergence of mental illness in the female population is apparent in the modern world, as treatment options and technologies have advanced to their highest levels. For those women from Hispanic backgrounds, mental illness is often particularly difficult to manage as a result of various problems within the social environment, including income, stigma against those of different cultures, and family issues, amongst others. There are a number of difficulties that Hispanic women face in their daily lives, and therefore, their problems are very complex and multi-faceted in many ways. The following discussion will identify the issues related to acculturation of Hispanic women and this influence on the degree of mental illness that is diagnosed within this population."
