"Women and Economics in the Workplace

One of the goals set forward in the Constitution is that all men are created free and equal. Here lies a fundamental problem--it leaves out all women. Despite the fact that a revolution was taking place to ensure liberty, women were treated as non-entities. Abigail Adams asked her husband John to extend the rights of the Constitution specifically to women. Her plea to remember the ladies also held a warning that if not heeded, another type of rebellion could take place. She hoped that a petition to Congress, would erect a new government and form a new code of laws. It was her belief that a new social order would ensure that women were treated with the same dignity and respect that men were..."
