Traditionally local area networks have used the wired communication system for interconnecting the different resources. Wireless LANs offer a totally new level of service to the users removing the system tethers and increasing their freedom and mobility. Today we find totally new approaches and applications for Wireless LANs as seen in cellular, infrared, and spread spectrum radio services. Wireless LANs are fast becoming an integral part of our network world and the mobile workforce has already become a reality. Let us analyze the different aspect of this technology in a little detail."
