Trafficking in women and children has become one of the most profitable industries in the world for organized crime rings. This trade is a multi-billion dollar one, which is why it attracts a lot of men, especially as they need no experience or certificates. This paper shows that the growth in the size and number of this type of organized crimes has become a threat to the safety of women and children. Also, it threatens the status of women and their great role in developing societies. The paper shows that trafficking in women negatively affects the community as a whole, since half of the population of any society is viewed as a sexual commodity to be sold. Therefore, governments should enforce stricter penalties for people participating in the white slave trade.

"Although the law has responded to the crisis of white slavery by criminalizing it, the laws have not effectively stopped or even reduced the size of the human traffic trade because there are controversial and vague wordings in the laws themselves. This is pointed out by Jo Doezema in his analysis of the use of the word "consent" as differentiating between whether a type of work is legal or illegal. For instance, the law states that white slavery is a form of non-consented trafficking in human beings for the purpose of exploiting their labour or their bodies (21-22). This word of non-consent is a problem because it is implying that the 'consented' exploitation of human beings and their 'consented' slavery is acceptable (Doezema 21-22). The fact is that this vagueness of the use of the word consent, rather than criminalizing all forms of white slavery, is abused by human traffickers to continue their trade in human life and body."
