The paper analyzes the changes in the use of weaponry throughout history. It gives an overview of the weapons of choice through the ages and and shows how the technology has developed over time. The paper also looks at the impetus for such changes in weaponry; the change in society.

"The history of weaponry across the globe has changed according to the lives of the individuals in various countries, and at various stages in technology. In the early days of the world individuals had to be creative and use natural materials for weaponry, yet, in these modern times nuclear weapons that have the capacity of killing millions of people at one time are evident in even the most minor countries across the globe. This paper will provide a brief history of weaponry, and how society's purpose for using weapons has differed throughout time. In the 1400s the weapon of choice was the matchlock. "The Matchlock secured a lighted wick in a movable arm which, when the trigger was depressed, was brought down against the flash pan to ignite the powder" ("Matchlock").
