"Lakes and other bodies of water are very dynamic systems that are often changing in small ways on a continuous basis. To prove this point, data on water levels in Lake Ontario from 1918 to 2005 was examined. The statistical analysis of this data and similar data from Lake Erie suggest that the dam that was built in the St. Lawrence in 1957 is regulating flow rates into Lake Ontario.
