"Wal-Mart is the largest retail chain in the world, though it has achieved this status largely with stores in the United States, followed by Canada and then parts of Europe. The model for the store is to sell goods at low prices and to do so in large super-stores that often drive local businesses out while taking over much of the local workforce with low-paying jobs, jobs that would be deemed part-time for any other company but that Wal-Mart claims are full-time because that is how the company defines them. Wal-Mart is now entering more and more foreign markets and first tried to use the same business model in all places, but the company soon found that this model would not work in countries not accustomed to the huge box stores such as it operates. The company learned this lesson when it opened stores in Mexico, learning how necessary it is ..."
