↶ Look Inside

Paper Summary:

This paper looks at how America's attitude has changed and opposition has increased to change the Electoral College system since the 2001 controversy in the Presidential elections. It examines which politicians are lobbying for a change in the system and how the public is receptive to these reforms. Other changes examined are financial reforms and card punching systems.

From the Paper:

"Since the complications counting ballots for the 2001 presidential election, both voters and the media have shown increased interest in the issue of exactly how we elect our presidents. Three areas have received close scrutiny either since that election. Two issues received serious scrutiny before the election: the Electoral College system and campaign finance. Since November of 2001, the actual method of casting ones vote has been closely looked at as well."
